    LAND ACKNOWLEDGMENT

We acknowledge that we are on Treaty 6 territory, a traditional meeting grounds, gathering place, and travelling route to the Cree, Saulteaux, Blackfoot, Métis, Dene and Nakota Sioux. We acknowledge all the many First Nations, Métis, and Inuit whose footsteps have marked these lands for centuries.

    SCHOOL PHILOSOPHY

At Crawford Plains we strongly support a philosophy of inclusion within our school.  This means that we welcome all students that live in our community. Students with special needs are accommodated within regular classrooms with a wide variety of targeted and specialized supports.  Many elements of differentiated instruction are incorporated so students have multiple opportunities for taking in information, making sense of ideas and expressing what they learn.  Similar supports are also provided for our “At Risk” and above average students.  Crawford Plains has a rich culture where all students feel they are capable, connected and contributing members.

Full in Planned Classes 2025 - 2026

For the 2025 - 2026 school year, Crawford Plains School is full in planned classes in Grade 2 in the French immersion program and Grades 1, 3, 4, 5 and 6 in the regular program. We will no longer accept enrolment requests for Grade 2 in the French Immersion program. For the regular program, we will now only accept resident students for Grades 1, 3, 4, 5 and 6 whose parent(s)/legal guardian(s) have newly moved into the school’s attendance area. A resident student of Edmonton Public Schools has at least one parent or legal guardian living in Edmonton who is not Roman Catholic. Non-resident students can enroll in another Division school with space in planned classes.

Welcome and Bienvenue!

Welcome to Crawford Plains School! We are excited by the opportunity to share with you the exemplary work students, staff and parents are engaged in across our school and community.  Crawford Plains School has a strong reputation for nurturing diverse, inclusive and equitable learning experiences that engage students to achieve their full potential. We have a committed and caring staff, a stimulating learning environment and a welcoming family atmosphere.

We are committed to offering programming that meets the specific needs and interests of our community.  Whether you choose to enroll in our English program, our French Immersion program, or our Interactions program, our staff are committed to providing high quality and engaging learning experiences.  We are lucky to have a very active Parent Council, known as our PATT Association, who enrich school experiences by supporting many initiatives over the course of the year.

Kindergarten 2025 - 2026

On February 3, 2025 Crawford Plains School will begin accepting new registrations for our French Immersion and English Kindergarten programs. All Kindergarten students, as well as students in other grades who are not currently enrolled at Edmonton Public Schools, will need to submit a completed Student Registration Form on the Division website.  The form can be accessed here (register for school).

Children who are five years old on or before December 31, 2025 may register in Kindergarten for the 2025–26 school year.

Space in our French Immersion Program is limited.  Selections for the program are not made on first come first serve basis.  As we strive to meet the needs of all students interested in attending our school, it will be important to apply during our pre-registration time which ends on March 19, 2025.   After this date we will review all applications and confirm if we have space for all those that may be interested.  School choice options are more limited after this date, and only those with space will remain open for registrations.

For more information regarding Kindergarten registration visit Edmonton Public School's website. Registering for Kindergarten.

INTERACTIONS PROGRAM

Our school offers limited placements in a specialized Interactions Program.  Interactions programming supports students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). ASD impacts how people understand what they see, hear and sense. This lifelong disability can result in difficulties in communication, social relationships, behaviour or learning. Although some students with ASD achieve at grade level, many have uneven or delayed achievement.

We currently offer a mixed grade classroom with a high adult to student ratio which allows us to provide the individual supports our students require.  Our priorities are built on developing communication and regulation skills while moving towards independence.  With a strong focus on literacy and numeracy skills, our classroom provides differentiated learning opportunities matched to each child’s learning potential from emerging skills to age appropriate skills on the learning continuum.  Every student in our Interactions program is a member of our greater school community, and has opportunities to take part in all aspects of school life.

There are a number of schools that offer Interactions programming in our area.  You can visit the EPSB Interactions Program Overview page for more information about the services we offer.

Making the choice to select an Interactions program is an important decision.  The videos below will help you better understand what our teams can offer you in this specialized setting:
